National Institute of Open Schooling-(NIOS) | NIOS Open Schooling Course

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) | NIOS open schooling course is one of the autonomous institutions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) , Government of India, which was established in the year 1989. NIOS offers the schooling formats such as:

Secondary (10th class)
Sr. Secondary (12th class)
Vocational courses through the channels of both open and distance learning (ODL)

Partnered with NIOS to provide qualification

Sri Narayana College has partnered with NIOS, in order to offer a secondary course, which is equivalent to class 10th. The students can choose subjects, and would be required to successfully complete a minimum of five subjects, with at least one language, which is mandatory for certification.

Criteria for Secondary School Education (SSC)

The minimum age in order to take the Secondary Course through NIOS is 14 years as on 31st January of the current year.
A learner who had studied at the secondary level can also seek admission in NIOS either to complete his course or to improve his performance

Criteria for Intermediate (10+2)

The students appearing for Sr. Secondary (12th class) should have passed in SSC or its equivalent/Intermediate drop-out
In order to take admission in the Senior Secondary course or Inter in one year, the learner must have passed the secondary course from a recognised board.

Pre-requisites for NIOS admission

Following are the documents that are required to appear for NIOS-for secondary, senior secondary

SSC (10th) long memo original
Recent passport size photograph
Signature (preferably in black ink)
Aadhar card original
Date of birth certificate original
Address proof i.e. Aadhaar Card/Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card/Indian
Caste certificate original
